ANGELS ALL AROUND

Psalm 91:11-13 (NIV)  11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.  13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

It’s an interesting reality that God will command his angels concerning us.  The first thing to understand is that we don’t have the “right” to command angels or even ask them for help.   All that authority is in God’s hand and he sends them our way based on when He thinks the timing is correct.  He sends His angels “to guard” us and “to lift us up”.  These angels are here to protect us from “striking our foot against a stone”   We are protected from stumbling and falling in “all your ways”.

I don’t know about you but I need this defending, protective, provision that the angels bring my way.  It is a comforting thought to know they are here.

In verse 13, the lion, the cobra, the great lion, and the serpent are all descriptive of Satan and his demons.   The interesting thing here is that it says “you will tread on” and “you will trample”.   This sounds like, with God’s help through His angel, we will be able to go on the “offensive” and be proactive in warding off the schemes of the devil.  We need to “resist the devil”.

James 4:7 (NIV) Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

In James we read that we need to submit to God.   When we fall in line with God and allow him to be first in our lives and we trust Him, then we are to “take the offensive” and resist the Devil and he will flee from us.  Victory is ours through what Jesus has provided on the cross.
As Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we are the righteousness of God through what Jesus has done.
Blessings to each of you this week.
