Reading Nehemiah 2, I counted 43+ names that were mentioned in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. This does not include the priests, sons, daughters, work smiths and general people who were also mentioned. In chapter two it specifies the areas they worked in and that the walls all the way around were rebuilt. (Neh 2)
This is a Pastor’s chapter of Scripture. Everyone in the congregation has a piece to rebuilding the kingdom or growing the kingdom of God. Everyone was helping in the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem; men, women, priests, rich and poor. There was not one of the remnant that wasn’t willing to pitch in and do their part.
We have all been gifted to do something in the Kingdom of God. When we are not accomplishing this, or using this gift for God’s purpose, we will feel empty and unfulfilled in our lives. But when we use this gift to glorify God, we get a great since of accomplishment and contentment in our lives.
So, today, make the choice to use what you have for the Kingdom. Our gifts, only when combined, can cause great growth for God. When you are missing from action or not accomplishing your goal, the Church suffers and we miss you. But when you are a part, the body is healed and everyone feels the joy of your presence. So won’t you come and serve God today?
May God be with Us,
