-As I interact in the environment we live in today I see people who are just absolutely busy in -all aspects of their lives. They are busy at work, busy with the family, engaged in school and church activities, and they are even trying to have a social life. Every day is loaded up to the point that sacrifices are being made. Many people are looking tired and are more prone to making mistakes.
When we get busy like this we do make mistakes at work, we can get short tempered or snappy at people, and we can even bring on physical sicknesses.
But God, our God, has a solution! Look at what he did after a busy week of work.
Genesis 2 (NKJV)
2 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
So, if God felt like he needed to rest after a week of work, it stands to reason that we probably need to be resting 1 day per week also. We need a change of pace and we need to have time to refocus our minds. I would suggest taking off on Sundays and going to church. This is a great place to refocus your thought process and get ready for another week. Sometimes a nap is also a welcome relief from the busy pace of the week. A little quietness is good for one’s body, soul, and spirit. Vacation time is always welcomed.
May the Lord Bless you with a time each week for some much needed rest!
