Here we are another week down the road with COVID 19. What a ride we as a nation and world are taking. There appears to be lots of uncertainty and disagreement in how to handle this thing. But as brothers and sisters in Christ, what should be our attitude and heart towards the events of the day? What does the scripture have to say?
Psalm 91 (NIV) 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
I love Psalm 91. It has so much to say about our God in times of trouble. In verse 1 “Whoever dwells” means we have a choice to dwell and live with Christ or not. We make the choice. But, if (and when) we decide to live in the “shelter of the Most High”, we will (we can) rest “in the shadow of the Almighty”. If we are in the “shadow” then that means God is going ahead in front of us making the path clear.
In verse 2, “I will say of the Lord”. In Genesis 1 when God “spoke”, things happened right away. Everything was created by the spoken “Word” of God. There appears to be authority in the “words” we speak also. If we say of the Lord (remember, the choice is ours), “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”, we take a big step in dwelling in His shelter and resting in His shadow. We have to make that choice and verbalize it. Then we need to allow God to work it out. This is where Faith comes in and what is Faith? Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We are hoping for (Faith) the world system to be rid of this Covid 19 even though we can’t necessarily see it today we have confidence that it will happen…and…we will be protected through it.
For in 2 Tim 1:7: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.Let’s let our Faith (from the Word of God) control our thoughts and emotions rather that living in Fear because Faith is the opposite of Fear.
May the Lord Bless you all with the peace you need in these troubled times.

Exciting times lie ahead. As Christians we don’t have to behave and act like the rest of the world. With all the Corona virus talk it appears that panic and fear have set in with a segment of our population. But God: said in: 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
As Christians we don’t have to live in Fear and then start making rash decisions that are not based on the Bible. We have a sound mind; so, we have the ability to make good decisions. We need to be refreshing our self with His Love. His love is ever present in our lives. It is His perfect love that will cast out Fear (1 John 4:18). For He is Faithful (2 Thes 3:3). We should allow the Spirit He has given us to guide us by staying focused on our Jesus. We need to consciencely spend time in the Word and interacting with other believers and encouraging them. Our focus needs to be on our Jesus and not on the problem. For we are all a part of the Family, the Family of God. Our best interest is at His heart.
May Blessings of Peace and Protection be on you this day!
