Dear Sublette Family,
Thanks for your grace as we get caught up in reporting! Flashback to October, rewarding and full!
We hosted many, traveled much and saw the King at work.
The first week of October, literally up to just moments before our guests arrived, was spent in a whirlwind of setting up and cleaning up our guest space to get ready for a full month of hosting. We were honored to have my (Chris's) father, mother and sister Emilee as our first guests, and because we now have a separate fully functional space, they were able to stay the entire month for both business and pleasure! The first week of their visit we caught up on hugs and simply reconnected. The second week Phil and Susan took off to meet with one of their field partners while we enjoyed time with Aunty Em. (My folks run a ministry called LATM or Literature and Teaching Ministries which helps provide resources to workers around the world in many different languages. Eastern Europe happens to be a central hub for their work! We are honored to have worked together with them to get books translated these past few years!) The same day they flew out, we received a leadership team from our sending church College Heights. It was a blessed time as we remembered and imagined our past 9 years on the field and laid out our plan for the next season here.
As the leadership team took off and my parents returned, we took a few days to prepare and rest before a whirlwind trip to visit LATM's partners in this region. As part of our future vision is networking and unity in our region, we all went along to make new contacts and discuss new future partnerships. As we traversed 8 countries in 10 days and met with at least a dozen contacts, it was quite amazing to see the effect LATM has had bringing assistance to Gospel work through Christian literature! Meeting after meeting, we heard of what the King has been doing through the work of LATM through the years and will do long into the future. It was certainly sweet to share in the fruit of their labor.
At the end of this epic journey, we took a few days in one of the most beautiful places on earth to catch our breath, turn 40 (Chris again!) and bid farewell to the USA Casey's.
Well, we made it to 500,000 kilometers just in time for the New Year! As homage, we played "We are the Champions" as she hit half a million km! Umicar is still kicking, praise the Lord! We are so pleased to announce we have $5,000 committed towards our $18,000 goal for the purchase of a new/used mission vehicle! The $18,000 will go toward another seven passenger car, around 5 years old with good mileage and with enough gusto to drive in the mountains in the winter. Would you please consider helping us with this need? If you feel led to give you can give online by using any of the donate buttons (Missionary: Casey, Project: Mission Vehicle) or you can send a check to our forwarding agent Julie Adair, 622 Old County Rd, Duncanville, TX 75137. The check needs to be written to TEAM EXPANSION with MISSION VEHICLE as the memo. Thank you for helping replace a trusted friend with a new companion that will help us continue to bring the Good News!
